The Department of Behavioral Health & Developmental Services (DBHDS) is the agency responsible for overseeing the Commonwealth’s behavioral health, substance use disorder, and developmental disability service delivery system. It is an exciting time to work at DBHDS! The agency is rapidly evolving to meet the changing needs of the state with a high level of focus on high quality, consistent, and accessible services to meet the needs of the population. Come join our dynamic team at our headquarters on Capitol Square in Richmond, Virginia! We are currently seeking a Senior Internal Auditor to plan, conduct, and coordinate performance audits for DBHDS central office, mental health facilities, and related programs performed at Community Service Boards across the Commonwealth. In addition, this position conducts projects that evaluate the efficiency and effectiveness of agency operations, control environment, and compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and established policies and procedures; assists in the development of work paper formats, audit programs and in the preparation of the Draft and Final audit reports; and performs annual follow up audits, conducts hotline and internal investigations, and completes other special projects as requested by management. This position also participates in the quality assurance activities and reviews required by the IIA Standards. This position is approved for 100% telework. However, it’s responsible for audits and special projects that require travel to CSBs and DBHDS facilities, including frequent overnight travel.

Minimum Qualifications

Experience in planning and conducting a variety of different audits independently, developing and communicating findings and recommendations to management, applying generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) and professional internal auditing standards, analyzing data to arrive at logical conclusions, and identifying and proposing solutions to problems. Experience in planning and conducting hotline projects and investigations. Demonstrated ability to coordinate multiple concurrent audits, meet reasonable timeframes for project completion, establish and maintain effective working relationships with agency officials, employees, and partnership contacts. Excellent written and oral communication skills, as well as human relations skills.

Job Summary and Qualifications

1. Manage Batch process to include reconciliation of charges posted compared to charges flowed to HOST and comparing CONT08 to PACONT02 to compare total charges flowing from Meditech to Document Direct

2. Assist the Director of Revenue Compliance in charge audits.

3. Act as main contact for Infusion Task Force to determine reimbursement for infusion services on non-formulary/fast track requests for specific patients.

4. Validate charges for L&D Observation & review/assign L&D OBED and Type A accounts.

5. Validate charges for non-Medicare Observation accounts.

6. Enter dialysis charges as provided by Dialysis vendor

7. Perform reconciliation of patient specific dialysis charges & dialysis vendor invoice

8. Act as conduit for departments, Supply Chain, & Division CDM to obtain pcodes for supply charging.

9. Maintenance of CDM

10. Assist departments in responding to RI audit results

What qualifications you will need:

Required – 1-2 years charging/auditing experience in an acute care hospital.

Required – High School graduate/GED
