Emirates A380 Seat Map: Overview

This Emirates A380 seat map overview is specifically for the Airbus A380-800 aircraft. This plane in the Emirates A380 fleet comes with a private AVOD (Audio Video on Demand) through the Emirate ICE entertainment platform.

Passengers will have a good time on the flight due to the extensive entertainment systems. All cabins of the Emirates Airbus A380 have an array of audio and music menus, video games, and television shows for passengers to enjoy.

Passengers can go through the Emirates A380 seat map to ensure they know the best seats and the ones to avoid. Every plane’s business and first-class cabin seat has a regular AC power port of 110V. However, a power port is located between seats in the Economy Class. The Emirates A380 seat map can be used to determine which seats are the best and which should be avoided.

The A380 Emirates features a WiFi hotspot. With this internet connection, flights become more enjoyable. However, the internet connection comes with a cost that customers can pay through their credit cards.

Whether on board the Emirates A380 First Class, Business, or Economy Class, you are entitled to a complimentary meal and bar service.

Airbus A380 800 Emirates Seating

First class.

The Emirates First Class A380 comprises 14 suites with seat 1A, 1EF, and 1K occupying the front rows. These seats may be bothersome due to their closeness to the lavatory.

Seats 4A and 4K are also close to the lavatory and galley as well. As a result, they’re not the best.

The Emirates Business Class A380 is just behind the First Class cabin. The seats 6DG in the first row are not ideal due to their location — too close to the lavatory. However, they come with bassinets, ideal for passengers traveling with babies.

As the Emirates A380 Business Class seat map shows, the seats in the cabin are flat bed seats. Aside from the first row seats, other seats are standard Business Class seats with no noticeable disadvantage.

Premium Economy

The Premium Economy Class is behind the Emirates A380 Business Class and is a relatively new addition to the Airbus A380 800 Emirates seating. The cabin is in rows 33 to 40 on the plane’s lower deck. It has two window seats and four in the middle.

The window seats are the most suitable due to their extra legroom and view. Thanks to the bulkhead in front, the 33rd row has enough leg space that other seats lack.

In the Economy Class of the Airbus A380 800 Emirates seating, you can settle for the seats 43ABC and 43HJK. They have extra legroom and are ideal for passengers traveling with infants due to their bassinets. In the Economy Class section, the seats 52A,B, and C and 52HJK are similar to the 43ABC and 43HJK.

The seats 54DEFG are among the best in the Economy Class; they have extra legroom and are also ideal for travelers with babies due to their bassinets. They are similar to the 82DEFG in features.

The worst seats in this cabin are 88ABC and 88HJK due to their limited recline and closeness to the lavatories.

Simple Flying

What are the best seats in each class on emirates' airbus a380s.

How to make the most of your time onboard the UAE flag carrier's double-decker giants.

  • Choose seats A or K in economy for more legroom and no third seat in front. Avoid seats near washrooms.
  • In premium economy, go for rows 33A/B and J/K for extra legroom. Avoid middle seats unless traveling in a group of three or larger.
  • In business class, choose window seats (A or K) for more legroom and better views. Avoid rows 25 and 26 due to noise from the onboard bar and bathrooms.

Dubai-based Emirates is the largest operator of the Airbus A380. Emirates operates 116 examples of the airliner, more than half of the total active A380s . While many other airlines have either retired their quad-jets or are slowly phasing them out, Emirates continues to deploy its fleet on short- and long-haul routes.

The airline aims to use the most significant commercial jet until the 2040s and invest in upgrading the passenger cabins. With most aircraft configured to accommodate nearly 500 passengers, choosing the best seats for each class of travel can be a challenge.

This article guides the best seats in Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First class cabins onboard the Emirates A380 fleet, based on data from ch-aviation.

Economy class

Emirates' A380s can seat anywhere between 399 and 557 passengers in economy class, depending on which aircraft you're on. This means strategically choosing your place on a long-haul flight is essential to getting the most comfortable experience. Simple Flying took a closer look at the ins and outs of these configurations last year, and you can read our assessment here .

The Economy cabin is laid out in a 3-4-3 configuration, as is standard for the A380, with all seats on the lower deck in the three/four-class layout. Avoiding the middle seat is a priority unless flying with family or friends, so seats B, E, F, and J should be crossed off the list. In the two-class setup, the front part of the upper deck also has economy class seats in a 2-4-2 layout, where only E and F are middle seats.

Emirates A380 Economy

The best seats are the ones titled 'bulkhead' above. These are usually home to emergency exits or galleys, offering much more legroom than a standard seat. Rows 41, 52, 67, and 80 are all safe bets. However, proximity to the galleys and washrooms can disturb overnight flights due to the commotion.

Emirates economy

Perhaps the best seats in economy are A and K in rows 68 and 81. With no third seat in the row ahead, passengers have more legroom without sacrificing storage. This makes 67 and 80 B and C good choices, too, especially if you're traveling in a pair and would rather avoid sitting next to a stranger. Either way, Emirates' economy is considered one of the most comfortable in the world!

Verdict: Select 68A/K and 81 A/K on all A380s if available, followed by emergency exit and bulkhead seats. Avoid seats near washrooms.

Premium Economy

A new entrant to the fleet, premium economy, is under two years old at Emirates. While currently only on select A380s and 777s, the cabin is set to be on over 120 planes by the end of 2024. So, where should you sit if you find yourself in this little oasis at the front of the lower deck of the A380?

Rows 33 to 40 are now premium in a 2-4-2 configuration. The twin seats are the best choice for both pairs and solo travelers, with aisle or window, depending on your preference. You'll wait to avoid all E and F seats unless you're in a group of three or larger since there are middle seats.

Our review of the cabin from London to Dubai revealed that 33A/B and J/K are the best seats due to the extra legroom, despite clearing away belongings during takeoff and landing. Premium economy is now available on all services to London Heathrow and other top European destinations like Paris CDG and, soon, all over the US.

Several passengers eating dinner in the Emirates Premium Economy Cabin.

New York and San Francisco already have the cabin on select flights, while Houston and Los Angeles will be added by July.

Verdict: Row 33A/B and J/K are the best picks for space, while all pairs of seats should be the top priority for pairs and single passengers.

Business class

Emirates hasn't shied away from colossal business class cabins on its A380s. Seating anywhere from 58 to 76 passengers, these premium-heavy cabins are laid out in a 1-2-1 configuration. However, not all seats are equal, and choosing well is essential to maximize the experience. Let's take a look at the best options.

Emirates A380 Business

If you're flying solo or love window views, go for seats A or K. Due to the staggered layout, these seats are next to the window, while B and J are closer to the aisle. A, E, F, and K also offer more legroom when fully flat, an essential consideration for taller fliers.

The only seats to avoid are rows 25 and 26. Since the onboard bar and bathrooms are located here, noise can be an issue for many. The first row of business class with windows, so 7A/K or 6A/K, depending on the aircraft, is ideal, since it also has slightly more legroom, and you're unlikely to see many other passengers.

Inside The Emirates Airbus A380 Business Class Cabin.

Securing seats upfront is your best bet. If traveling with someone, we'd recommend E and F since you can dine with them and get more privacy thanks to the console. If you're stuck in the middle, take seats D or G for your space. In any case, Emirates business class is always a unique experience.

Verdict: Choose the first row of window seats (6 or 7A/K) or any other window seat closer to the window (A or K). If traveling as a pair, E & F is ideal, while D & G is better if all the windows are gone and you're alone.

Flight Review: Emirates A380 Business Class Dubai To Mauritius

First class.

With only 14 seats, it's hard to say which seats are the best on the A380's first class. Laid out in a 1-2-1 layout, the middle pair of seats lacks windows, which can be a drawback if you enjoy the natural light and view. That being said, passengers traveling together may prefer the closer proximity that these offer. For solo flyers, A and K are the best choices for the entire first class experience.

Inside an Emirates A380 First Class suite.

With a bar right ahead and behind first class, sticking to rows 2 and 3 is the safest in terms of noise. Besides that, there is little to pick from if you find yourself in this cabin - sit back, relax, and enjoy the boundless luxury.

What is your favorite seat onboard Emirates' Airbus A380s? How often have you flown on the Dubai-based UAE flag carrier's superjumbos? Let us know your thoughts and experiences in the comments!

Seating details

Amazing seat on a route from London this is a great seat great food

Overall a satisfactory experience, better than many other airlines. Seat width, legroom and recline were better than most other airlines in the Economy class. Entertainment offered ample choice with over 2000 channels available. Food and drink were satisfactory but I have experienced better. The same applies to the service.

To close to the galley. Very noisy due working times in the galley not a "real" first class seat

Far enough away from the lounge so minimal noise. Unless you're 5'11 or shorter, you'll be unable to lie flat. Also, your feet go into a cubbyhole. Very uncomfortable unless you take your shoes off. The table does not have a hinge from which, once it extends, you can push it away from you. Time for Emirates to upgrade to the 787

This is a wonderful seat with extra legroom because there is no seat in front. The only drawback is there is no storage space while the plane is taking off so you have to pull out your goodies on to your seat before hand but not everything. Also the tv screen in in the arm rest so kind of a pain. Best part of this seat is you get extra leg room and you can stand up at any time you want when safe. Also people waiting for the bathrooms are buffered by the 2 seats in front left of you. Note, some airlines block exit in front of you but Emirates has it totally open. Had this seat for a 16 hour flight round trip. Also bring a seat pad (inflatable) for all long trips. Saves your back and butt.

You might want to think twice about sitting in 23K or 23A because right in front of you mounted on the wall is where they keep the reading material (magazines/newspapers) and you will have people coming over continuously to your seat for reading material. Also I never noticed this before because I'm a small sized person however any inward window seat in business class might not be a good fit for a fuller sized person. Getting in an out of the aisle to your seat might be a bit of a squeeze.

The seat was very comfortable with all the normal comfort of Emirates business class, however I was kept awake most of the night due to passengers partying in the lounge. They were very loud. It woke me up several times. I would not sit in this seat again.

Good legroom in this row but a lot of passengeers use this legroom as a walkway between the toilets. This kept me awake most of the night as they stepped on me or otherwise knocked me

Beware this seat is just next to the place where infants are provided

This is a great seat in the business section. Far enough forward of the bar area that I didn't hear any noise at all. It is behind a bulkhead which houses a coat closet. A little busy during boarding, but no one uses the closet once airborne. This bulkhead, combined with a divider between the seat and the aisle, makes for a very private area. Overall, seat was comfortable, with a great selection of entertainment. There are two windows at this seat. You're seated just behind the wing, so your view is about half wing and half ground.

The seat has a double window

My son and I just flew round trip between JFK and Dubai, both times in 23E and F, and we were extremely happy with these seats. They are in the smaller rear business class section, which is both quieter and nearer the lavs so less of a hike. At the same time, they are in the front of this cabin, so noise from the bar does not really carry. This row also has the storage areas towards the aisle, so there is no bother from flight attendants or passengers in the front business section passing through on their way to the bar or lavs. I especially recommend these seats for a pair traveling together, but the privacy screen between E and F is high enough that I personally wouldn't be bothered as a single either if A and K seats were not available.

I have chosen to sit in 65D now 3 times. I like having close access to the toilet which is not bothersome. Chair still has a good incline, is a disabled seat so arm rest goes up. Temperature/noise comfortable enough to sleep. Im 5ft 7, size UK22, this is one of the most comfortable economy seats I have tried so far.

On the A380, for my family of 4 this is the 'best' most comfortable seats available with great pitch, entertainment and then food (in that order). 3 of us over 6ft so ideal seats. Everything worked as it should from the seats.

Good seat overall. The screen worked fine, though the headphone jack was a bit fiddly. This seat is nice for long flights as it is just far enough from the toilets that you can stretch your legs a bit. Great amount of room for a 5'7 woman of medium build. Nothing too fancy, but was comfortable enough to get me a little bit of sleep between London and Dubai.

The trip was from Brisbane Australia to Dubai in a nutshell A380 Economy seats are the best.

On EK9 Dubai to Gatwick. Not convinced about the seating style, you feel cramped due to excess stuff, but the service and food is fabulous.

Has a very nice view of the engines while still being able to see what's on the ground. The noise from the engines could become quite bothersome. The seat is quite close to the galley which didn't bother me particularly but it could bother some people.

Dont ever sit in 6D. High traffic and not a lot of space like the other seats. Good if you have a baby though

First time travel I(travelled business class) in in A380. I found the plane very well appointed with excellent facilities provided for the pax at the seats. The entertaiment system was very nice with large tv screen. The bar at the end of the plane was a great feature and was a unique feature.

Airbus A320 Seat Map: Which Airlines Have The Most Legroom?

  • Airlines are reducing legroom in passenger aircraft to cut costs, especially in economy cabins.
  • However, some airlines, like China Southern and British Airways, offer more generous legroom in their A320 economy cabins.
  • Middle Eastern carriers like Etihad and Qatar Airways provide the most legroom in their A320 upper-class cabins.

Passenger aircraft seats and legroom have been shrinking in recent times. As airlines aim to reduce their per-seat expenses, they request denser seating configurations in all cabin classes . That leaves minimal legroom for passengers, particularly in economy cabins.

Single aisle aircraft, combined with minimal legroom on competing routes, can become a deciding factor for passengers. A handful of global carriers still provide generous legroom for most passengers, including a handful of operators offering ample space onboard their fleets of the popular Airbus A320.

Most passengers are unaware of which airlines offer the most legroom on single-aisle jets and hope for the best before a flight. Simple Flying compiled a list of global airlines, based on the data from SeatGuru.com , that offer the most legroom on Airbus A320 aircraft.

Economy Class Legroom: Which Airlines Give You The Most?

Economy class, industry standard: 29 to 31 inches pitch.

Cabin legroom can be measured based on the configuration of the seat pitch. Airlines in China provide some of the largest pitched seats in Economy cabins. China Southern, the largest carrier in China by fleet size, offers a 30- to 39-inch pitch in its A320 economy class. China Eastern Airlines offers economy seating with a pitch of 31 inches.

British Airways offers a generous legroom onboard some of its A320s configured for flights within Europe. The flag carrier provides 31 to 34 inches of pitch in the economy cabin. Lufthansa offers up to 30 inches of pitch in its A320 economy seats.

JetBlue and Air Canada offer the most legroom in North America in their A320 economy seating. The former, being the fifth-largest carrier in the United States, has economy seats with 32- to 33-inch pitch. Air Canada offers a 31- to 32-inch pitch onboard its A320s. Delta Air Lines offers a 31-inch pitch, while economy seats on United A320s have a pitch of 30 inches.

In the Middle East, Abu-Dhabi-based Etihad Airways offers a 32-inch seat pitch, while Qatar Airways has economy seats with a 31-inch pitch. Bangkok Airways also provides economy seats with a 31-inch pitch.

Upper-class cabins

Industry standard: 34 to 38 inches pitch.

The Middle Eastern carriers offer the most legroom in Business cabins onboard their A320 aircraft. Etihad offers a generous 49-inch pitch in its A320 first class cabin. This airline is known for its comfort and luxurious offerings, particularly in its upper-class cabins.

Qatar Airways first Class cabins onboard its A320s have a pitch of 45 inches, which is significantly higher than the industry average. China Southern’s Business cabins on A320s are configured with 42 to 44 inches pitch.

United Airlines offers a 39-inch seat pitch in its first class cabin on the A320s, while Air Canada configures its upper-class cabin seats with a 37 to 38-inch pitch. Delta Air Lines, China Eastern, and Air China offer 36 inches of pitch in their upper-class cabins on A320s.

What are your thoughts on the airlines that provide the most legroom on their Airbus A320 aircraft? Did we miss any airline that stood out for you during your travel? Share your experience in the comments section.

Emirates boosts flights to Osaka, introducing A380 fitted with Premium Economy

Dubai, UAE, 7 February 2024 : Emirates will be boosting its services to Osaka with the introduction of the A380 starting from 1 June 2024. The A380 to be deployed to Osaka will be retrofitted with the airline’s latest product, Premium Economy, making it the second Japanese gateway to operate with the newly upgraded aircraft. The upgraded service will offer increased seat capacity on flights to and from Japan’s second largest city, in addition to introducing the highly sought-after Premium Economy Class for customers, as well as refreshed interiors across First, Business and Economy Class cabins.

From 1 June, Emirates’ four-class A380 will replace the airline's Boeing 777-300ER aircraft currently operating the EK316/EK317 service to and from Osaka’s Kansai International Airport (KIX). With upgraded A380 operations, Emirates will offer 910 additional weekly seats between Dubai and Osaka, offering more opportunities to connect to and beyond Dubai to popular destinations for travelers including Milan, Madrid, Brazil, Paris and London. Emirates celebrated the 20th anniversary of its services between Dubai and Osaka last year and during that time, the airline carried more than 220,000 passengers on more than 360 flights between the two gateways in 2023.

Emirates’ four-class A380 deployed to Osaka will feature 14 First Class suites, 76 lie-flat seats in Business Class, 56 seats in Premium Economy Class and 338 ergonomically designed seats in Economy Class. On a four-class Emirates A380, the Premium Economy cabin is located at the front of the main deck with the 56 seats laid out in a 2-4-2 configuration. In the cabin, every inch of space anticipates customer needs with a generous seat pitch and width for working and relaxing, and customised features that offer function and convenience like in-seat charging points and a side cocktail table. The experience is rounded off with expertly curated in-flight amenities, an inventive menu and extensive beverage options.  Emirates’ "ice" in-flight entertainment includes up to 6,500 channels of movies, TV programs, and music. Customers flying in both Business and First Class will enjoy access to Emirates' onboard lounge, while First Class passengers will have exclusive access to the airline’s luxurious shower spa. In addition, passengers can enjoy Emirates' award-winning signature hospitality, and meals prepared using carefully selected ingredients from around the world.

In December 2023, Emirates launched its Premium Economy product on the Dubai-Narita route and it has so far garnered great interest from customers. The airline's distinctive product is currently available on flights to 14 other destinations globally, including New York JFK, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Houston, London Heathrow, Sydney, Auckland, Christchurch, Melbourne, Singapore, Mumbai, Bangalore, Sao Paulo and Dubai.

The airline’s A380 operations to Kansai International Airport (KIX) come as Japan expects an increase in tourism through the unique attractions nestled within the Kansai region, such as Osaka and Kyoto, in addition to a packed schedule of events including the Osaka-Kansai Expo planned for 2025. Emirates also operates a daily four-class A380 service to Tokyo Narita, and a daily Boeing 777-300ER service to Tokyo Haneda. Through its scheduled operations to Japan's three largest international travel hubs, Emirates provides convenient air connectivity to serve the growing demand.

As part of its commitment to travellers, Emirates last year announced the resumption of its Chauffeur-drive service in Tokyo Haneda for the airline's First and Business Class customers. Emirates had also introduced a complimentary shuttle bus service for the airline's Economy class customers from Tokyo Haneda airport to major train stations - Tokyo (TYO) and Shinagawa (SGW).
